Where has CBD Hemp come from?

CBD respectively Cannabidiol belongs to a group of substances, which are called cannabinoids.  In nature Cannabinoids exist in cannabis plants. CBD is the second most discussed substance
After the THC, but there are more than 500 substances in per plant, and scientists  discover futher and futher. CBD is the best known and most discussed cannabinoid, not only because of its high concentration in the plant, but also because it is not psychoactive. In addition it has considerable therapeutic potential, which is not entirely documented.

Research into cannabidiol has started in the 60s , but it was known long time before that. Full attention to this substance was given  in 1963, when its chemical structure was determined. Research has  shown that the effects of CBD are absolutely diferent from THC. In the 1970s, CBD gained even more attention, appeared in small scientific publications, especially for  its interaction with THC. It has been proved conclusively that it is not a psychoactive substance,quite the contrary the possibilities of treating epilepsy and its sedative effects were researched.

Researchers have neglected CBD and its therapeutic potential for a long time, unlike THC. However, its pharmacological effects have been proven during recent years .Cannabidiol protects nerve cells against oxygen deficiency and poisons, and also helps against alcohol poisoning. And it generally slows down the process of growing old of cells . It also has tremendous potential for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, strokes, diabetes, arthritis, cancer, psychiatric disorders and futhermore.
The Interest of cannabis products is growing, the market offers  sticks  or cosmetics as well
Due to  increasing of more liberal attitude to cannabis, which is now the most welcoming in the Netherlands or in some US states, cannabis products are increasingly popular on the market. From cosmetics, oils, ointments, seeds to the daily use product like hemp fiber, and hence textiles and clothing, many people take it as an everyday item that is affordable.Of course it is  possible to buy just sticks better or worse quality and with different CBD content. Even for ordinery consumption, for example as a harmless  legal filling in to a vaporizer. Last but not least, unlike cotton, cannabis is an incomparably lower environmental burden – for example, cannabis uses 50% less water, can be grown locally, without pesticides and without unnecessary packaging.
Is it legal?
The threshold for  cultivation of cannabis is up to 0.2% THC within the European Union, but may vary from one country to another; in the Czech Republic this limit is 0.3%. European Union law requires that each package of CBD flowers has to be marked by a warning that it is not for direct consumption, but only for scientific purposes or for further processing. There are no other restrictions  againts CBD, apart from the content of cannabidiol, it is similary to   cannabis – technical cannabis varieties have been specially breded and selected from canabis .  CBD has grown for example in Switzerland, Italy or Greece. The Czech Republic is not lagging behind in terms of product offer, but e-shops offer mostly imports from abroad.

Cannabis and its impact on health

CBD has a number of unique qualities, but they remain in the shadow of THC.  Generally, cannabis is a superfood, its seeds have a balanced content of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, proteins, vitamins A, E and D, and many B-group vitamins. Cannabis is rich in sodium, calcium, fiber, and iron too. Also, its anti-inflammatory effects are known.

Hemp seeds are suitable for strengthening immunity, helping to prevent a number of diseases and detoxication. It can be used in the cosmetics industry like skin-nourishing ointments, anti-dandruff shampoos, etc. CBD is processed in the form of tinctures and oils too, which have other uses as food supplements

Last but not least, the cannabis plant is very easy to grow, for example, it needs less water than cotton. It is also more resistant than other agricultural crops and consumes up to 95% less agrochemistry. Furthermore, it revitalizes the soil naturally and absorbs high levels of carbon dioxide during photosynthesis, in terms of sustainability it is affable.
